September 2026 Ministry Update
God at work. Lives moving forward.
Welcome
September gave us much to celebrate. We have every reason to give God the glory.
September brought milestones worth celebrating, answered prayers, needs met, and people throughout Brevard faithfully stepping in to serve. Through it all, we are reminded that this ministry is not ultimately about what we can accomplish. It is about what Christ is doing in lives.
This month’s update offers a glimpse of that work across our Men’s Campus and Helen’s House. We are thankful for the men, women, and children we have the privilege to serve. We are also thankful for the staff, volunteers, churches, donors, businesses, and ministry partners God uses to encourage, equip, and provide along the way.
Featured Celebration
Celebrating Progress
We had the privilege of recognizing men who reached important phase-up and graduation milestones in the residential program. Each certificate represents far more than completing requirements. Behind it are months of discipleship, recovery, accountability, life-skills training, work, perseverance, and daily choices to keep moving forward.
Some of these men are advancing into the next stage of the program, while others are preparing for life beyond residential care. We celebrate their work and perseverance, while giving thanks to Christ for the strength, grace, conviction, and hope that make lasting change possible.
This particular celebration recognized men in our residential program, but progress happens throughout the mission. Whether we are serving men at our Men’s Campus or women and children through Helen’s House, the greater story is what Christ is doing in hearts and lives as people take the next faithful step.
September Impact at a Glance
Care, assistance, and discipleship throughout the month.
The stories show the personal side of the mission. These numbers give a glimpse of the care, shelter, practical assistance, and discipleship taking place across our ministry as we serve men, women, and children.
Behind every number is a person God has entrusted to our care. Each one represents another opportunity to meet a practical need, build a relationship, and point someone toward the hope and transformation found in Jesus Christ.
Answered Prayer, Continued Progress
From a New Job to a New Set of Keys
Last month we celebrated when Sean found employment after friends of the mission joined us in praying for his job search. In September, we saw another answer to prayer and another picture of God’s provision when a generous donor gave him a vehicle.
Reliable transportation removes a very real barrier as Sean continues working, saving, and preparing for greater independence. We are thankful for the donor God used to meet that need and grateful to see Sean continuing to move forward.
Faith at the Center
More than a schedule. A growing relationship with Christ.
Spiritual growth is central to our ministry at both the Men’s Campus and Helen’s House. Through chapel, worship, Bible study, recovery programming, prayer, church involvement, and everyday relationships, we want the people we serve to encounter the hope of Jesus Christ and grow in a genuine relationship with Him.
Chapel
Is Jesus Really Enough?
During one September chapel, our Director of Operations taught from Psalm 27 verse 4 and challenged the men to consider David’s desire simply to be with God and what it means to truly desire Christ above everything else.
Personal Choice
Choosing Church for Themselves
Several men chose to attend church together on their own. Moments like this encourage us because they reflect spiritual decisions that go beyond required program activities.
Staff Prayer
We Pray Together, Too
Our staff regularly gathers to pray for the residents and families we serve, the ministry, and the people who faithfully support the work. We never want programs and schedules to replace dependence on God.
Worship Chapel
A Resident Closes in Prayer
One of the most meaningful moments of the month came as a resident closed worship chapel in prayer. Rather than only telling you about it, we wanted you to be able to experience a piece of the moment.
Growing Community Awareness
Helping more people discover the mission.
September brought two meaningful opportunities to share what Christ Is The Answer Rescue Mission does, why the ministry exists, and the truth at the center of it all. Lasting transformation is found in Jesus Christ.
Christians of Brevard
Looking Toward the Next Chapter
Christians of Brevard interviewed Director of Operations Chris Hughes about the future of the mission, including potential growth at Helen’s House, improvements to the Men’s Campus, stronger partnerships with local churches, and the importance of helping more people throughout Brevard understand the work taking place here.
The feature also highlighted the heart behind the work. We provide practical help and long-term residential programming centered on the belief that Christ changes lives.
Longtime Community Partner
Chick-fil-A Visits Christ Is The Answer Rescue Mission
We were grateful to welcome longtime supporter Chick-fil-A for a tour of the mission and an interview with our President & CEO and Director of Operations. Their continued friendship and support have been a blessing, and we appreciate their desire to help more people see the ministry and its impact.
Skills for Success
Preparing residents for life beyond the program.
Finding a job can open an important door. Building the skills to keep that job, work well with others, handle conflict, communicate effectively, and act with integrity helps someone walk through that door successfully.
Our Skills for Success classes are one example of how we help residents prepare for life beyond the program. Across CITA, we want the men and women we serve to build practical skills for work, relationships, family life, and the community while keeping the example and teachings of Jesus at the center.
Reason to Ride
Thank you for riding for Helen’s House.
Our 3rd Annual Reason to Ride brought riders, volunteers, churches, sponsors, donors, and friends together in support of Helen’s House, our Center for Women and Children. We are grateful to everyone who registered, served food, donated raffle items, volunteered, sponsored, shared the event, and helped make the day possible.
Helen’s House
More than a place to stay.
Safe shelter matters, but so do relationships, laughter, encouragement, and opportunities for women and children simply to enjoy life together. These candid moments from Helen’s House capture some of the community that grows alongside the deeper work of healing, stability, and spiritual growth.
We are grateful for the staff, volunteers, churches, and donors who help create an environment where women and children can be cared for, encouraged, and reminded that they are loved.
People Who Keep Showing Up
The mission is strengthened by faithful people and partners.
These are just a few of the many people who faithfully served with us this month. We are grateful for every volunteer, church, business, and community partner God uses to help us serve the men, women, and children who come through our doors.
Faithful Volunteer
Dave Soldivieri
Dave continues to serve in whatever way is needed, from cooking at Reason to Ride to sharing in chapel and taking time to pray personally with residents. We are thankful for his consistent heart to serve.
Church Partnership
First Baptist Melbourne
Another team from First Baptist Melbourne spent its monthly volunteer day helping at Helen’s House Thrift Store with sorting, tagging, organizing, and other work that keeps the store moving.
Generous Partner
Shiloh Youth Ranch
Shiloh Youth Ranch regularly blesses the mission with milk, eggs, bacon, and other food. Chef Bill recently came out with his chicken fried rice, and our guests loved it. Their consistent generosity helps us feed the people we serve.
Staff Spotlight
Thank You, Christina
For about a year, Christina has helped keep the administrative office running by tracking the many things we do with and for guests, answering calls, helping staff, and handling whatever the day brings. We are grateful for the work that often happens quietly behind the scenes.
Shop, Donate, Support the Mission
Our thrift stores are a vital part of the ministry.
Christ Is The Answer Rescue Mission operates two thrift stores in Brevard County. Donated items sold through the stores help generate important support for our residential programs while also providing affordable clothing, furniture, household goods, and other necessities to the community.
The stores also help us respond directly to people in need. In September alone, we provided $2,364.50 worth of thrift store items at no cost to those who needed assistance.
Every donation, purchase, and volunteer hour at our thrift stores helps support the larger mission of serving men, women, and children while keeping Christ at the center of the care, discipleship, and transformation we pursue.
You Saw the Need and Responded
Thank you for helping keep everyday essentials available.
When we shared that basic hygiene supplies were running low, people responded. Shampoo, body wash, deodorant, razors, floss, and other everyday items began arriving to help us care for the men, women, and children we serve.
These supplies are used constantly across our ministry, so the need continues. Our Amazon and Walmart Wish Lists make it easy to send needed items directly to the mission.
This Is Only a Glimpse
Thank you for helping us follow where God is working.
Every photo represents a moment, but there were countless conversations, prayers, meals, Bible studies, classes, acts of service, donations, and quiet victories.
Thank you to every person who prayed, served, gave, encouraged, taught, cooked, donated, discipled, shared our story, or simply showed up this month. We are grateful for the many ways God provides through His people. We give Him the glory for every life He is changing.
