Hi! My name is Jonathan and I have been at CITA for about 2 months now. My life had taken a drastic turn when I fell on hard times. I ended up losing my job and all of my earthly possessions. I was told, by a friend, about CITA in February and came into the program. I felt out of my element and almost forced to be here due to my situation. I ended up leaving the program after 10 days and stayed with a friend for a little while. The pandemic hit and all of a sudden I was homeless once again. I was talking to my sister-in-law and she reassured me that God would guide my steps to a place that could help me. Unbeknown to her, I was walking near downtown Melbourne and that's exactly what happened. Feeling hopeless, I returned to CITA. Through the prayers of my family and the guidance of the Lord, the staff welcomed me with open arms. I knew I was in a safe place and from there God began to work on my heart and in my life. There was only one bed available and I know God was looking out for me. As the weeks began to pass, Buddy spoke in Chapel one night about the exact things I have been struggling with for a very long time. I spoke with Chaplain Perry the next morning about the issues I've been dealing with. By the end of speaking with him, I began having chest pains and the hair on my arms raised up. Something was happening to me. I accepted the Lord as my Savior that day and have begun my journey to forgiving past hurts and staying in the Word of God. I recently was baptized and have become a new man through Christ. Thank you, CITA, for showing me the love of Christ. I now know that God has me in the palm of His hand. I would also like to thank some special people that have been helping me in this journey. Thank you to Beth, Andy, Matt, Andrea, Bob, and Jim. I hold you all in my heart. God bless you all.
